Waiting Periods

The establishment of an ICHRA creates a special enrollment period (SEP). This gives employees 60 days from the date the ICHRA was offered to complete enrollment.

For example, if your organization enforces a 90-day waiting period before an employee becomes eligible for benefits, the employee would typically have 60 days from their 91st day of employment to enroll.
